Commonshore

For food and beverage brands

Enter it once. We speak every distributor's format.

Every distributor, retailer and marketplace wants your product data in its own slightly different shape. Commonshore keeps one true record of each product and fills in whatever form comes next.

GDSN was meant to end this. In practice a brand feeds its data pool, then types the same item into KeHE, UNFI and Whole Foods by hand. Commonshore is the translation layer in between.

How it works

Three steps, then every form after that gets shorter.

  1. 1

    Bring what you already have

Your GS1 export, what's in KeHE and UNFI, spec sheets, the label. Commonshore builds one product record from them and keeps where every fact came from.

  2. 2

    Settle each disagreement once

Two portals, three shelf lives. A case that's lighter than the bottles in it. Commonshore shows the sources side by side; you pick the true value, and it holds.

  3. 3

    Drop in any distributor's form

Commonshore fills it in their format and their dropdowns, asks only for what it doesn't know, and writes your answers back so the next form asks less.

What it checks

The things distributors reject items for, caught before you submit.

  • GTIN check digits and a unit, inner pack and case that each carry their own.
  • Pack weights that are exactly the sum of their contents, so the carton was never weighed.
  • Contents that don't fit a bottle taller than its pack, four inner packs wider than the case floor.
  • Certified vs claimed a certification you hold, or a claim printed on the pack. Forms ask for both; they aren't the same.
  • Deliberate differences the shelf life you give one distributor on purpose, kept apart from drift you didn't intend.
  • Formula versions a bottle still on shelf with last year's ingredient order isn't an error; it's old stock.

Customer zero is a sauce brand.

Commonshore was built for GUSSA, sold through KeHE, UNFI, Faire and Amazon, to get its second SKU onto every shelf without retyping it six times. If that's your week too, sign in and bring your data.
